VYASA has
a.

The biggest yoga therapy research Health Home, "Arogyadhama" with 200 beds in the country with the most comprehensive and effective treatment through yoga.

b.

Produced the largest number of research papers on yoga therapy and other applications of yoga in the national & international research journals of great renown.

c.

Built a team of research scholars, assistants & guides along with biochemical, physiological, psychological, neuro-physiological and immunological laboratories.

d. Trained nearly 5000 yoga teachers to introduce yoga in schools in 8 States.
e.

Our work spread over 30 countries with collaborative research projects in UK & USA as Royal Free Hospital, London, Middlesbrough General Hospital, Fort Collins Chest Clinic Denver, Eating Disorders Center in Los Angeles and University of Florida in Gainesville on FMRI research, Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore Sports Authority of India in Bangalore, S N Sinha Institute of Business Management in Ranchi.

Been organizing regular seminars and international conferences in Prasanti Kutiram. The 15th International Conference was held from December 16 to 19, 2005 in Prasanti Kutiram.


Recognitions
i.

VK YOGAS (now VYASA) has been recognized as "Scientific & Industrial Research Organization, (SIRO)" from Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India .

ii.

Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India (2001) has funded VYASA under the "DST-FIST sponsored scheme".

iii.

UGC mentioned us in their letter dated Aug 10, 1993 (D O NO. F.B-1/93) - SVYASA as one of the four premier yoga institutes in the country and asked us to start yoga centers in the Universities (we are presently running 5 centers).

iv. Bangalore University has recognized VYASA as a center for running courses leading to yoga including PhD in Yoga.
v.

Grants for research & running courses are received from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of AYUSH., CCRYN, DRDO of Ministry of Defense and NIN Pune, India.

vi.

SVYASA, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana has been granted UNIVERSITY status by the Ministry of HRD, Govt of India through UGC. With this new status, short-term and long-term courses have been started from Sep 11, 2002. [Sep 11, 1893 was a great day for India when Swami Vivekananda heralded the grandeur of our culture in the Parliament of Religions in Chicago.]


The objective of this University named SVYASA is essentially to combine the Best of the East (Yoga and spiritual lore) with the Best of the West (modern Scientific wisdom and research) to achieve Health, Peace and Happiness on earth. The present global trend towards a Consciousness based approach from matter-based paradigm will aptly be worked out in the curriculum and research programs in this University. Yet another specialty of this unique venture is to institute several Chairs to be occupied by the best of the Yoga masters on one hand and Nobel Laureates on the other hand to raise the standards of learning and research in the faculty and student community.
